Zakat Assistance Program
Sabeel’s Zakat Assistance Program is designed to offer assistance to individuals experiencing financial challenges in our community, aligning with our commitment to the principles of compassion, community, and social responsibility.
How it Works: Our Zakat Assistance Program operates through a structured committee process. Individuals facing financial difficulties are invited to submit a Zakat application to be considered for assistance from the Zakat pool.
Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for Zakat assistance, individuals must meet specific criteria, including but not limited to:
- Demonstrated financial need
- Residency within the province of Nova Scotia
- Due to the religious requirements around this process, all applicants must be part of the local Muslim community (for non-Muslims who are in need, please contact us)
- Willingness to provide required documentation for assessment
Application Submission: To apply for Zakat assistance, please complete the online application form below. Ensure that all required information is accurately provided. Incomplete applications may delay the review process.
Review Process: Upon receiving applications, our Zakat Committee, consisting of experienced and dedicated members, will carefully review each case. All information will be treated with utmost confidentiality.
Notification: Applicants will be notified of the committee’s decision within a reasonable timeframe. If approved, details regarding the disbursement of Zakat funds will be communicated discreetly.
Important Note: Sabeel is committed to ensuring the fair and just distribution of Zakat funds. All applications are assessed on a case-by-case basis, and the committee reserves the right to allocate funds based on the urgency and severity of each situation.
